ms Rebecca hilsenrath (Chair of governors) 

Rebecca Hilsenrath is the Director of Strategy and Communications for the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, where she took up her role in 2021.  She trained and practised law at Linklaters and then worked in the Government Legal Service, where she held a number of roles in the then Department for Education and Skills and in the Attorney General’s Office.   She was then appointed CEO of LawWorks (the Solicitors Pro Bono Group), a national charity facilitating free legal advice to community groups and individuals in need, where she worked for five years before moving in 2014 to the Equality and Human Rights Commission initially as Chief Legal Officer and subsequently as CEO.  Rebecca has also established two schools, set up the National Pro Bono Centre in Chancery Lane and has sat on the boards of a number of charities and advice agencies, including the Bar Pro Bono Unit and the Mary Ward Legal Centre.  In 2012, she was listed by the Times among the 100 most influential lawyers in the country and she has two honorary doctorates for services to the legal profession.

Ms Donna-Maria Cullen  

Donna is an Executive Director of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and has spent over 25 years in business management. 

Donna was previously with Chime plc and was Deputy MD of Good Relations. She specialised in the field of corporate and financial communications and marketing, having also worked in public affairs. Early major campaigns included the privatization of BP, Thames Water and AEA Technology. She advised the Club over a period of 14 years prior to joining the Board in 2006, Donna currently oversees the Club's Planning Consultations, Communications, Content and Marketing departments.

She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1984 with a double Masters in Politics and English.

Donna is a trustee of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation which undertakes Educational programmes.

 mr TIMI DORGU 

Timi Dorgu started his career on the L’Oréal graduate training programme over 10 years ago and has since been responsible for various sales and marketing teams across the consumer goods, technology and diversity sectors. He currently leads a team for a Dutch brand, Keune.

Timi studied International Business with French at Warwick University and EM Lyon Business School, and was awarded the Consumer & Luxury Rising Star award at the Black British Business Awards of 2014 for his innovative work. He is a trustee of his family’s charity and is also a Governor at City of London School, where he was previously a pupil.

ms Monica Duncan 

Monica Duncan was Principal at Duke’s Aldridge Academy. She joined the governing body after taking up headship in January 2009. She was a Headteacher in Lewisham for 8 years before coming to Haringey.

She has worked in education for most of her working life. Her teaching career began in Birmingham, then Coventry and Duke’s Aldridge Academy is her third London school.

Monica is passionate about education and enjoys the challenges of headship in urban schools. Her personal mantra is ‘where there is a will, there is a way’

Tony Hartney CBE was Headteacher at Gladesmore Community School for 23 years and is now and Educational Consultant.

Nicholas was educated at Whitgift School, Croydon. After contemplating a career as a professional singer, Mr Hewlett decided to complete a PGCE at the Institute of Education, leading him to take his first teaching job at Dulwich College. After three years, he was made Head of Geography at Magdalen College School, Oxford where, over the next five years, he was given additional responsibilities as a Housemaster, Contingent Commander of the CCF and Director of the annual Arts Festival.

In 2011, Mr Hewlett was employed as part of a team that set-up and led a flagship school on the island of Jeju, South Korea, under the banner and guidance of North London Collegiate School.

MS JANE Lunnon
 

Jane became the first female Head of Alleyn’s School, Dulwich, in January 2021 having been Head of Wimbledon High School from 2014 to 2020. She was previously at Wellington College and Prior’s Field Schools in a variety of roles: Head of English, Assistant Director of Studies, Head of Sixth Form, Deputy Pastoral and Housemaster’s wife, before becoming Senior Deputy at Wellington in 2010.

Jane attended the University of Bristol (English) and the North London Collegiate School. Jane began her career in marketing and research before taking up teaching. She has a broad experience of both single-sex and co-educational environments; helped set up The Sunday Times / Wellington College Annual Education Festival and has run (and spoken at) numerous workshops and conferences. Jane is also a Governor of Newland House School and King Edward’s School Witley, is a Trustee of the Royal SpringBoard Foundation and a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company Education Committee.

Lord Francis Maude 

Lord Francis Maude, Baron Maude of Horsham, is a prominent British Conservative Party politician. He held various significant positions during his career, including Minister for the Cabinet Office and Paymaster General from 2010 to 2015. Maude has also served as Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, Shadow Foreign Secretary, and Chairman of the Conservative Party. After over 25 years as an MP, he became a life peer in 2015. He later served as Minister of State for Trade and Investment before transitioning to lead his own consultancy, Francis Maude Associates (FMA), specialising in government efficiency.

Mr Adam PETTITT 

Adam Pettitt has been Head of Highgate School since 2006. He studied French and German at university and began his teaching career at Eton College. He was subsequently Head of German at Oundle School and Head of Modern Languages at Abingdon School. In 1998 he was appointed as Deputy Head at Norwich School. Highgate School leads the Chrysalis Programme which has created partnerships with over forty maintained schools in Haringey, Camden, Brent and Islington, providing a wide range of support.

After reading Economics at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge he proceeded to work for both the Admissions Offices in Cambridge and Oxford for the next decade where his responsibilities included Student Recruitment, Summer Schools, Widening Participation and Admissions Policy.

He was born in Barking and attended state school and sixth-form college in Havering, which drives his passion for all students to have the best start in life and the maximum number of opportunities to help them fulfil their potential.

He was on the founding Governing Body at LAE Stratford and is keen on using this knowledge to support the development of LAE Tottenham.

He is currently the Chair of the Education and Standards Committee at LAE Tottenham.
